time flies by.. weeeeh...

issue #11

very last days of 2007, i feel the urge to re-establish this blog. at least for me and the circle of 3-6 people who even know of it's existance. soo... behold! here's a supposedly HUGE post. pictures from July 2007 to now, today. december 27th.

Anna's feet.

Tob.

Later that day. Robin relaxing in some beachbar-spot in Mannheim.

Random neckarwiesen/tittenwiese ("boob-lawn") beercan shot. Damn, I miss the summer.

Always on the phone, always busy.

Fuck lens distortion. Still like it.

Ho-ho-ho... artsy! shot taken through the viewfinder of tob's mamiya 645 (luv teh camera !!!)

BBQ, baby.

Friends by the lake. Classy thing to do for cool kids from the country like us. City blows !

The self-proclaimed 'l'amour dude'. I hate when beer & low light force me to use the god-damn-shitty-shit popup flash.

Deep thought tob.

Maxi.

"Could please somebody find a FUKIN c? This is bloody hilarious!"

Meet Mr. Whittaker.

Art taking a short nap in the company of the wrong kind of people ...

... such as felix.

The morning after, koni's fun bwahaha he's making faces. no, seriously. funny man.

We went to "das fest", some kind of 'outdoors and for free' ('umsonst und draußen') festival here in Germany.. one of the few still existent. Hanna celebrating beer and...er.. cool.. shades.

Dramatic light snapshot...

Robin... aaah i just LOVE what wide-angle does to people.. mwahaha.

Pleased to meet you. so who are you again? aaah right, we met at the thing with the thing during this thing in .. well.. were?

Robin again, as indie as god created him.. messanger-bag, black shirt, lo chucks, leather wristband, handrolling cigarettes ... LUV.

...

My former art teacher turned 50. He celebrated for 2 days, this is one rare shot of him being sober. Taken somewhere in between the two nights.

Weinfest (-> wine-fest, hrhr), big deal 'round here.. hard to explain for anybody who doesn't live here. Just that much: You go there, you meet people, you drink (usually you order a 0.5 L glass filled with 2/3 white wine 1/3 sparkling water, a so called 'Schorle'), you just enjoy being around.
Bad-ass random shot.

85mm. Beautiful Judith. She smiles, I shoot. I'm satisfied, she's angry. The old story over and over again...

Art again.. yes that's his name. I like the lightning on this one and how there's so little room between his nose and the 'Schorle'.

Peek-a-boo.

Michi... the smile, the glowing eyes.. like a child seeing santa.

Anne. One of the very few frames i like although the UBERCOOL pop-up flash has been used.

Woaaaah. WOAAAAAH... because i only use a nikon instead of a leica (due to the fact that i'm not wealthy nor cool enough.) the bokeh looks not good at all. nothing to jerk off to, so sorry.

Last remaining light... wouldn't that be a good picture to end the post? it may be. but joke's on you, fuckhead. i just got started.

Asian food in Heidelberg with Jonas.

YAMM YAMM!

At the record store... vinyl-renaissance bla.

Big jump here... drove all the way to amsterdam and stayed in a very cool barn-like house somewhere on the outskirts of the city. one good week. mainly shot medium format, maybe add them later in an own dedicated post. robin playing around with my very old very bad exposure-meter or X-Poso-meter, i prefer the latter writing.

Coffee & cigarettes.

Mc Graf.

BMW, baby.

15mm for breakfast.

Yeah.. you think it, i think it, let's say it: NEEERD.

Phil with cool shades and cunning hat.

85mm ... I really like the f80 for being able to pull off 1/4000th sometimes. Techblah, techblah, techblah, next frame.
Our morning view... looking at it now makes me sigh. nice moments.

Random cliché heineken shot.

After returning from Amsterdam, the Wurstmarkt (= 1/4 as big as the Oktoberfest, wine instead of beer) was about to start... used cheap Fuji Superia 400 pushed to 1600.

Random.
Random.
Random.
Damn good fries, just plain damn good.
You can't pour down wine your throat the whole night.. sometimes you just need something to re-adjust. Namely silver tequila.

Anne in soft warm light.

Cutiee... again, my love for the pop-up flash grows. my 15-30 is just so darn HUUGE that every frame i take gets this very cool shadow... *sigh*

Graf & Panama. Dreamteam. Somehow i like how the scanner failed here.

Felix... i love that kid. I could spend weeks doing nothing but taking pictures of him. The skullring, the closed eyes.. awww..
Panama.

Tina and Malte.

"The boys."

We had quite a good talk that night.. or at least i remember having a good talk with her. Whatever, meet julia.

The night ended with a grand display of fireworks. Maxi & Oli just enjoying the sight.

I lifted my "Schorle" towards the glimmering sky and saluted to the sparks.

Bwahah!

The streetlights somehow made it difficult to enjoy it completely because you always had to look "through" a bright lamp to see the fireworks.

Robin used the break away from the main-area to have a smoke.. 1/15th with 85mm wide open! I still know this value months after taking the frame because i jerked off several times to it being taken at 1/15th.

Back to the stage, the moshpit, the battlefield, the "Middlgass" (central gangway).

Phil checking how much time we still got until the spot starts to shut down... not much.

Last men standing.

We met christoph aka "der könich" (the king) on our way home.

following... some random colorshots:

This Summer I worked for Petra Arnold (www.firefish.net), I took this shot of her after she scuttled through this poppy field for 30 minutes taking pictures with her 20yr old Polaroid and simultaneously cursing digital photography and going on and on and on about why exactly it sucks.

I took some pictures, too. But well... flowers and me. Just doesn't work out, I guess.

Weinfest, again.

It was kind of crowded so we wandered a bit till we found a nice place to hang for a while.

Anna & Tob.

Christian.

Someday, school started. So I started to lend myself sweet sweet stuff. Such as hasselblad bodies and lenses. "Only" old 500 c/m's but hey. Also introducing: Anna z. & Mulu.

We met in Mannheim to see a photo exhibition and just to enjoy a very warm and sunny day in the city. Shot on a roll of expired Agfa Portrait 50.

Of course we were dead serious. The red dot allows you to take pictures in the museum, Anna decided for a rather prominent point to display hers.

After we got the boring part (exhibition, yak) out of the way we picked up some food and had supper on top of some parking garage... Damn urban, aren't we? Anna went for Chinese, while..

...Mulu went along with Turkish cuisine.

Trash and white stripe.

Time for coffee and black & white. Kodak Tmax 400.

Another day I introduced Mulu to Subway sandwiches. They got along quite well. He was orgasmic. I got a bit scared, actually.

Meet Sarah. I've known her for quite a long time but we completely lost touch like two years ago. Well, out of the blue she calls me and tells me that she's studying law in Mannheim now and if I'd like to meet her. I would, I did. We had coffe and cought up on our lives.

Fanta and cigarettes... quite a recipe.

After coffee she showed me her place.

Asian food again.

Stopped at Christian's place on the way home.

He's the man.

Actually, he is. Dad.

Stepmom.

.... enough for today.
take care,
felix.
