family, double-exposures and expensive toys

issue #23

Elloo,
just returned from shooting some pictures for a photo reportage i'm working on for my portfolio. Pretty tired, drinking tea and listening to 'Alfred Hitchcock and the three investigators'... aaaw. Besides shooting mediocre stuff for the portfolio, I of COURSE continue to shoot mediocre stuff for myself / this blog. So here we go, first of three rolls:

This APX400 travelled through two cameras before taking a bath in Refinal (3:30min at 21,5°, agitated every 30s, for the few who care) developer.. because I SUCK AT WHAT I DO i produced 10 doubleexposures.. 2 turned out "artsy" / cool. So.. first frames, Leica CL with the obligatory Summicron-C 40mm f/2.0.

YAY for Dad for producing a sharp image with the CL.

It was Grampa's Birthday so some HOOCH was consumed.

While the elder generation devoted itself to alcohol, Sophie was 'chillaxing' in front of the Dad-Mac.

Later that night I shot a still-life for my portfolio. ( the black bar next to christian gives it away, flash tripod fully extended.) Because it didn't went very well i gave Christian a call at midnight, 10 minutes he was with me, starting to bounce highly insane ideas of the wall.. finally we got something that I considered useful. Thanks mate.

The next day... I was eager to get my first CL prints, so I bugged Bettina at the pixelprinter to do it FASTER. She turned too quick, so out of focus.

art #1.

art #2.

art #3.

APX back in the FM2, this proves it.

Kicked-back evening at my house.. Maddin brought along "Das Boot". ( cf. the movie 'beerfest' ) SO we ordered some Pizza, drank absurd amounts of beer and watched 'Live Free Or Die Hard'... It's a man's world !

Das Boot Stilllife.

Maddin and Christian.

"I am the photofairy... BOW TO MY REIGN!!!"

She was pissed because I took her magic stick... reasonable.

Another day, another roll... Kodak Tmax400 + 2, developed in Refinal for 8:45mins at blaaahlbahnobodycares!! Woke up in Wachenheim, the night after I took the first pictures for the coverage... Half the film was filled with frames of it, but these are none of your concern ;-)
Ah, Camera is the sweet Leica M7 with the 35mm f/1.4 Summilux.. pleasure to 'work' with such sweet sweet equip, only have it till next monday.. Thanks Leica for lending it to me and thanks to Dad for.. well.. opening some channels. YAY for Dad!

Mickey-jar & Coffee, mjam.

Yes I wear PJs.. and I LUV them.

Shot most of the frames on 'A', not caring about exact exposure. Here the bright background fucks up the measurement and voilà, I'm tanned. Ah, and meet rubberduckie, my super-cool-awesome-cunning hat.

I was late for Grannys B'day so I hurled myself into my car and raced to the celebrations... Arrived quick enough to still catch the Soup.

Börnie & Sändi. I have no clue what they ware saying or what upset her so much.

Aunt Sig.

Börnie, Sändi and sweet Lilly.

Granduncle Clemens on the left.. Still refuses to give me his old Hasselblad 501 c/m.

Second serving for Dad.

I really, really like the expressions here. All three of them.

Cut off their heads to create some deep, deep "Kids are the future" picture. Kidding, I just can't frame properly.

The three little rascals started to violate the old piano, shouting "wonderful christmas" again and again and again...

Next Roll, Tmax 100 +1... Something went wrong here, Must have left it a bit too long in the developer, contrasts are way to harsh imo.

After the piano concert, everbody was quite relaxed, including grampa.

... maybe even too relaxed? the newspaper-bunch.. Clemens, Börnie, Dietfried.

Uncle Manfred fooling around with Louis.

hmmm.. as said above,.. HARSH CONTRASTS.

many aunts, discussing serious stuff.

Hm.. summilux, I'd like to.. plough you. very much indeed. "Tande Sig's" hair.

Prepared myself delicously delicous coffee.

scene of a battle.

Lilly.

Took a crap. hihi.

Spent some Leica-quality-time in front of the mirror, fooling around.. tack sharp. *drools*

Strolled around in the house, looking for some stilllife.

Sandy was full of glee.

The kids took the party outside, ignoring any warning about the temperature.

Sophie, waving. goodbyyeee.

that's it for now.. Still some rolls of the last weeks to come.. shot like a madman.
I also did some scans myself ( these are all scanned on a Fuji Sp-3000 by godfather tob) with my crappy Canoscan 8600F.. but that things gotta go.. really.. really.. REALLY bad. Anyone selling a good REAL film scanner?

so long,
take care,
f.
